DCC 1/21/14: Board Gaming League Season 1 & 2 news!

Hello everyone! We hope you had a great three-day-weekend, and for those who had yesterday (Martin Luther King Day) off and chose to spend it with us at Curio, we hope we made your holiday enjoyable! Always being open on holidays, even Christmas, is something we strive for: we want you to be able to count on us to be a place available to play your favorite games at, rain or shine, holiday or post-zombie-apocalypse :-)

We have a quick riddle for you, though it may take a bit to figure out!

Board Gaming League Season 1 News

This Saturday marks our final session for our first, and very successful, Season 1 of our Board Gaming League! We have a special treat in store for you, and a particularly exciting board game to demo:

In honor of the last day of the Board Gaming League, we’ll be opening up the Minigame Library to everybody! The Minigame Library contains six different games, from small two player games, to a massive eleven player team game! Those games are:

Noir is a deduction game, wherein two to four players are trying to find the identities of the other players. Every time you fish for information, you give away some information yourself! So be careful, otherwise the person you’re trying to find might end up capturing you! 

Grimoire Shuffle is a team based game. Your team needs to be the first to find the magical texts in the massive and ever changing labyrinth that is the library. The Team Leader decides what action cards to give to his teammates, but he must also give one to the opposing Team Leader. Each action card is going to have a special ability on it, so you’ll have to use them wisely! 

Infinity Dungeon is a storytelling game of mayhem and improbably scenarios. Each turn, the Active Player must come up with a plan to get everyone out of the dungeon, using whatever wacky hijinks are available to them. 

Blades of Legend is a secret team game wherein two Masters are vying for control. The other players have to figure out which team everyone is on in order to maximize cooperation, but they have to be wary of people deceiving them. 

Pixel Tactics is a tactical two-player game where you must build a squad to defeat the opposing Leader. Each card you have in your deck is a different character with different abilities. Maximize these abilities to defeat the opposing Leader! 

Master Plan is a game show for villains! You must move from place to place via card lengths, and each place is a card placed there by either you or your opponents. Each card is placed face down, to be flipped up when somebody lands on it. Some of them are beneficial, but some are extremely bad for you! Out-think your opponents, and be the first to grab the trophy! 

Board Gaming League SEASON 2 News

We want to give you a heads up that we will indeed be hosting another exciting season of the Board Gaming League, with new perks, more excellent Board Games, and some other things in store for you (pun intended)! We are still hashing out the details here at Curio, and want to present you with the best we can offer. Start date will be in the second half of February, more details soon!
