Oh, hi there. I didn't notice you. Come on in, have a nice seat by the warm fire. Crumpet?

Welcome to the debut post of the Daily Curio Cast! We will now be presenting you with daily posts containing news, musings, humor, important announcements, and random neat things, right here. It is our hope to make these posts quite enjoyable for your reading pleasure.

In the world of Magic:

WOTC has officially debuted new changes to the Magic card frame, which will begin with M2015. Hit or miss with most of the Magic community. Do you like it? An anti-counterfeit holo has been incorporated into all rares and mythic rares. Here's what it looks like:

At Curio:

In about a week, we will be removing the back drywall divider to open up the floor space to roomier seating and more tables.

Netrunner League update: Ed won all of Tom's bounties and now holds a record-breaking 25 bounties, which he will be unable to cash in until he resolves an open challenge with Barry, to whom he could lose them all- but Ed is very confident that he will crush Barry like a bug. Intense!

Hero Clix Events incoming! We now have an "I'm interested!" sheet on the main bulletin board for those who want to learn about and/or participate in Hero Clix events (sealed & constructed). We will be begin official Hero Clix tournaments every Sunday starting with next month, and we will have an excellent judge and teacher of the game on site! For the month of February we will be doing Sealed format ($25) with some nice prize support, and moving forward into March, we will begin cycling in different formats!

New EDH League on the horizon! More details on this soon. Expect a full return to standard Banned lists, some fun bonuses & perks, and Saturday multiplayer EDH tournaments!

Board Gaming League news for this Saturday (1/11):

4PM: Puzzle Strike is a highly interactive deck building game that features a very interesting mixture of themes. There’s no player elimination, it’s asymmetric, and the game is designed with a built in timer that makes sure it doesn’t go long. Each player will choose a character that has three unique chips. Unlike other deck building games, this game doesn’t use cards. No need for shuffling, you just put your chips in your bag, and shake it up! Each turn, you play through four phases, and then play continues clockwise. As gems in your gem pile accrue, you get closer to losing, as if you have ten or more gems in your gem pile at the beginning of the buy phase, the game is over and the player with the fewest gems in their gem pile wins. But, as you play closer to the edge, you draw more chips into your hands, allowing you to have better turns. Can you manage this risk/reward strategy?

7PM: Nightfall is a deck building game featuring a heavy theme of things that go bump in the night. Werewolves, Vampires, and Ghouls all make an appearance, and you must use them to battle your opponents and inflict Wounds. Just like in a normal deck building game, there’s a pile of cards that are able to be bought (referred to as the common archive), but unlike other deck building games, you draft two personal archives that only you can buy from. This allows you to tailor your strategy in advance, but you have to be careful, as everything you play, your opponents can use to play their own cards as well! Manage your cards carefully and you’ll come out of the bloody melee on top. Manage them poorly, and you could find yourself ripped to shreds!

Hey, have you ever tried these? They are called "Chocorooms".

They are absolutely delicious. Milk and dark chocolate combination melted over a crispy cracker. Like Pocky but better. As of today, we now have these in stock, in packages of about 15 chocorooms each, $2 after tax. YUM
